An empty office block is re-purposed into apartments specifically designed for growing and extended families. A central void is carved from the center down to the amenities ground-floor, providing light and the potential for cross ventilation so all units are double-exposure.
Additional voids break up the facade, so the monolith appears to be a cluster of smaller apartment blocks. Additional floors are added to some of these blocks to further individualize them as distinct from one another. The units use a studio layout, with a shared kitchen and terrace adjoining neighboring units, an interpretation of the communicating door which allows for an infinite extension of the apartment’s scope.
